What are BeGood up to just now?
Hi and thanks for checking in. BeGood is alive and well and we continue to play selected events. We’ll keep you posted here and on Facebook, about any gigs the boys are playing that you can purchase tickets for or attend free of charge. John has been playing private parties and celebrity events over the last year and more BeGood dates are to follow soon.
About BeGood
BeGoodMusic is fronted by John Charles Brownlie from Edinburgh and Ryan Taylor from Salisbury. The DJ names they adopted back in 1998 are John Spacey and Ryan Stern.
BeGoodMusic launched onto the London music scene in 2004 on the back of John Spacey’s developing career as a touring DJ, performing to an estimated one million people in seven countries since he began DJing in the 90s whilst at University. BeGoodMusic has hosted events at over 50 venues internationally, ncluding the highest village in Europe, the top of the French Alps, The United States of America, on board boats in the UK and in Ibiza, sunset at Cafe Del Mar, pool parties, terraces, balconies, and some of the world’s most highly regarded clubs.
John Spacey teamed up with Ryan Stern in 2004 when they began running their own nights together around London. The boys rapidly built up a significant following, through residencies and regular guest appearances at award winning venues and some of the most respected nights on the circuit. Accolades in the media, included Critic’s Choice from The London Evening Standard and Time Out Magazine.
BeGood on the Thames introduced the idea of pairing up a cruise on the River Thames through the capital city, with an after party experience at one of London’s major clubs. John and Ryan made this their flagship event of the Summer and enjoyed no fewer than eight sell out events between Summer 2004 and 2008. Their after parties took in Pacha London and the legendary (now closed) venue The Cross before BeGood moved operations to Ministry of Sound in 2007 for their most challenging schedule yet – a new BeGood on the Thames every month for the Summer season.
Such was the success of their season, and the rooms they hosted at Ministry alongside Defected and Toolroom Knights, that John and Ryan were asked back to host rooms at Ministry of Sound for BeGood’s 5th birthday in 2009 with Erick Morillo at Subliminal Sessions. Erick was quite taken with the BeGood brand on his visit to the UK during 2009 and as a little homage to the BeGood boys, decided to brand up his own 2009 season in Ibiza “Be Bad“.
BeGood returned to Ministry again to host Summer sessions at Release Yourself. featuring Roger Sanchez in August 2009. John had previously appeared with Sanchez at Cafe Mambo in Ibiza in Summer 2006. The latest BeGood night at Ministry was their 6th birthday in 2010 at Saturday Sessions featuring Laidback Luke and Chris Lake.
